Pop Birds & Animals
Last year I visited the beautiful Mauritshuis Museum/Art Gallery in The Hague (Holland). The museum is home to 2 of my favourite 17th century paintings: Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring and Carel Fabritious' Gold Finch. Seeing the Goldfinch again after some 25 years or more... set me off on a series of animals and birds artworks that collectively have a kind of Pop feels about them. See some of these works below.
